The mission of Clinical Diabetes is to provide primary care providers and all clinicians involved in the care of people with diabetes with information on advances and state-of-the-art care for people with diabetes. Clinical Diabetes is also a forum for discussing diabetes-related problems in practice, medical-legal issues, case studies, digests of recent research, and patient education materials.

Diabetes publishes original research about the physiology and pathophysiology of diabetes mellitus. Submitted manuscripts can report any aspect of laboratory, animal, or human research. Emphasis is on investigative reports focusing on areas such as the pathogenesis of diabetes and its complications, normal and pathologic pancreatic islet function and intermediary metabolism, pharmacological mechanisms of drug and hormone action, and biochemical and molecular aspects of normal and abnormal biological processes. Studies in the areas of diabetes education or the application of accepted therapeutic and diagnostic approaches to patients with diabetes mellitus are not published.

The Journal of Clinical and Applied Research and Education of the ADA. The March 1998 and later issues are now available as full text. Online subscriptions are available for an additional $10 over the cost of ADA membership. In addition, non-members may purchase individual articles for fax or download delivery. The Voice of the Diabetic, entering its seventeenth year of publication, has a current circulation of over 300,000. Produced four times a year in standard print and four-track audiocassette for the blind or visually impaired and on the Web, is offered free as a public service to diabetics, health professionals, family, friends, and anyone else with an interest in the condition. Many individuals and businesses also set out multiple copies in public places such as hospitals, doctors' offices, and libraries. Published by the Diabetes Action Network, a division of the National Federation of the Blind.
