What is a Webring?

A Webring is an exciting new way to navigate the World Wide Web. It allows web sites with similar interest to form "rings" of sites, allowing netizens a fast and efficient way to find content and a great way for sites to build traffic and gain exposure.

What is the Links Webring?

We've all seen this symbol on a lot of pages around the Internet. People have either run across these sites accidentally or via a search engine. Now, for the first time, all Links-based sites can link to each other. The Links Webring exists to provide hyperlink access from one Links-based site to other Links-based sites. By including your site in the Links Webring, you provide exposure for your site that you might not receive in any other way. This means increased traffic for your site! Who better to point to your site than another Links Webmaster just like you?

What are the requirements for joining the Links Webring?

There are only two requirments for joining the Links Webring:

1. Your site must use the Gossamer Threads Links Manager cgi script (any version).
   
   
2. Your site must not contain any links to pornographic sites or contain material not suitable for viewing by children of all ages.

How do I join the Links Webring?

Joining the Links Webring is easy and absolutely FREE. Just complete the form below, submit it, and your site will be added to the queue where it will await final approval. You will be notified, via email, of any approval or disapproval action.

After you submit this application, you will receive email with further instructions. The email will confirm the information you submitted and tell you where to go to get the HTML fragment you must include someplace on the page pointed to by your Site URL above. Once you have the fragment included in your HTML, advise the Ringmaster that you have done this. No action conerning your application will be taken until this email is received!

The HTML fragment looks similar to the links at the bottom of this page (the "Powered by Goassamer Threads" graphic is optional -- you can use it, omit it, or replace it with another graphic of your choosing), but will include information specific to your ID in the ring. You can modify how the fragment looks on your site as long as you do not alter the webring specific parameters. You must put this fragment on your Site URL page and may optionally place it on any other web page at your site.

The Ringmaster reserves the right to reject any page for any reason. If you have a problem with a page in the Links Webring, please try to contact the page owner first. if that fails, feel free to contact the Ringmaster
